Home owner sues Council, Builder and Developer for alleged foundation defects
We act for Henry Wiraja who bought his first home in the Auckland suburb of Massey in February 2013, thinking because it was only about six months old and recently received its council code compliance certificate, it was unlikely to have any problems.
A structural engineer’s report found foundations weren’t secured properly, joists that supported his bathroom and ensuite floor had been cut through to make room for drainpipes and insulation, and fixings were missing from his roof, with some structural trusses detaching.
He is now suing the developer of the property Shah Homes Ltd, the builder, and Auckland Council that certified it.
